C.MARTINO is a Southern California artist working with a variety of materials (metal, paint, found objects, wood, alternative materials), a multiplicity of themes and diverse styles to create compelling works of contemporary art exploding with the color, energy and vibrancy of life lived with body, mind and soul wide open.
After receiving his MBA from San Diego State University, he found life crowded with business strategy sessions, client meetings, and long, painful commutes as a business process consultant with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting...yikes!) before discovering and unleashing a passion for art and the act of creation.
From humble beginnings toiling late nights in a dilapidated downtown San Diego studio, Martino has become a serious full-time artist whose works serve as visual documentation of the emotion and energy characterizing a hidden Inner World seething just beneath the ebb and flow of everyday life.
His unique style and commitment to constantly exploring new themes, subject matter and techniques has garnered a dedicated corporate and private clientele who prize the inventiveness and thoroughly modern quality of his work. Martino currently divides his creative time between the creation of themed collections of work and custom commissioned work for private collectors, restaurants, clubs and companies.
A founding member of The Attic artists collective, Martino remains an active participant in San Diego's emerging art scene. IN an effort to expand the reach of his art, he has also opened a studio workspace in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles.
Martino's work hangs prominently in offices, homes, clubs and restaurants throughout the region. He looks forward to many years of pushing the envelope with engaging work that challenges, excites and inspires. When he isn't creating new work in his studio, Martino can be found designing brand identities as co-owner of strategic communications consultancy Project X Media, surfing the reefs and beaches of north county San Diego, playing guitar in the splatter-punk band Big Dollar Bill, and writing strangely skewed screenplays with minimal commercial appeal. |
